On day 12 we were very busy, my son and daughter have Ninja class and piano class at the same time, so our evenings are always rushed on that day. For that reason I didn’t have time to cook a meal, so I decided to try something a coworker had told me once, which is that her kids love it when she cooks them grilled cheese sandwiches using her George Foreman grill.
According to her they come out cheesier and crispier than cooking them in a pan or on the griddle. So I plugged in my George Foreman grill and decided to give it a try.
I lightly toasted the bread in the toaster first, then spread each slice with butter, put a slice of cheese in the middle, and placed it on the grill and closed the lid. The sandwich cooked pretty fast, between 3 – 5 minutes and was very crispy and the cheese was creamy.
The kids really liked them cooked this way and the grill marks give it an air of a restaurant sandwich.
Cooking them on the George Foreman grill is a fun and quick way to make “restaurant” style grilled cheese sandwiches that the kids will love!
